CHAD Transit Unveils Inclusion Bus

January 21, 2021

CHAD Transit is proud to announce the addition of the “Inclusion Bus” to our fleet of eight vehicles.

CHAD Transit’s mission is “Community Transportation for All”. We are here for everyone, and anyone. Despite us promoting this message over the years, there are still misconceptions in our community that CHAD Transit is only for certain people or populations. That could not be further from the truth, if anyone calls to book a drive, the only questions we ask are when and where. CHAD Transit is “Community Transportation for All”.

In order to reinforce our mission to the wider community, our Board of Directors decided to approve the decaling of an “Inclusion Bus”. The Pride Flag, an iconic symbol of inclusion in our society, inspired the decaling. Each color of the flag represents a different value. Orange is healing, red celebrates life, blue represents spirit, green reflects nature, yellow is sunlight and purple stands for harmony. CHAD Transit shares the belief that all these values are important, and that ideally, they reflect strongly in our society.

CHAD Transit staff and board members, along with input from the Pictou County Rainbow Community, developed the design for the Inclusion Bus. Various sized bubbles represent each of the five colors. The larger bubbles contain the words the color represents. Numerous bubbles are located on the body of the bus.

The Inclusion Bus is catching to see, keep an eye out for it, and if you do see it, please take that moment to reflect on the importance of inclusion for all members of our society, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, skin color, belief systems, physical limitations or intellectual disability. We also ask that you share CHAD Transit’s mission of “Community Transportation for All” with your family and friends.
